This kit also comes with the camber bolt kits that may be needed for proper alignment after the suspension conversion kit is installed. End Your Expensive Suspension Problems Forever.. Replaces Your Factory Air System. More Reliable Than Air Suspensions. No Modifications, Easy To Install.
Air Suspension Conversion Kit Includes. 2 Fully Assembled Front Struts. 2 Premium Coil Springs for the rear. 2 Rear Passive Shock Absorbers.
Suspension Warning Light Fix Module. 2005 Mercedes Benz CLS500, 2006 Mercedes Benz CLS500, 2007 Mercedes Benz CLS500, 2008 Mercedes Benz CLS500, 2009 Mercedes Benz CLS500, 2010 Mercedes Benz CLS500, 2011 Mercedes Benz CLS500. Is built with the following suspension components. (models with air suspension only). Commonly referred to as air bags, a plastic and rubber bag that is fitted on top of the strut that uses pressurized air as a cushion instead of a metal coil spring to hold a vehicle off of the ground and off of its wheels. These are the number one cause of all air suspension leaks. All air springs all go bad at about the same rate. If one is leaking, the others will not be far behind. For a proper repair, all of them need to be replaced at the same time. Struts (x2)- a type of shock absorber; has metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. The air spring assembled on top of the strut is commonly referred to as an. ¨ (models w/ AIRMATIC Dual-Control only). The air shocks are pumped up automatically to assist with the ride quality. These shocks contain a rubber bladder which is notorious for dry rotting, causing leaks in the shocks which inevitably leads to multiple failures in the air system. Passive Hydraulic Shock Absorbers (x2). (models w/o AIRMATIC Dual-Control only). A metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. Coil springs hold the vehicle up but be careful, they are rated for and designed to work with the rest of the suspension system, so when you change air shocks to passive shocks, then you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new type of shocks.
Height Sensors (x4)- a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out. Tubes that run from a compressor to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags. Creates/sends pressurized air to active suspension components.
When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicles correct ride height. O-rings- although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system. Look for these common signs that indicate the suspension is going bad. A sudden uneven height difference between different sides of the CLS500 is commonly seen. One sagging end and one inflated end can make the CLS500 look like it's squatting down. Some drivers notice a shifting lean from one side to the other.
If not fixed in a timely fashion, these imbalances will wear out the air compressor. Once the air compressor stops working, a suspension warning light will turn on. An expensive direct replacement or repair is the only solution to advanced suspension failure.
When one part breaks, the rest of the system follows suit. The kit, manufactured in the USA, comes complete with one custom-designed suspension light-fix module, two fully assembled front struts; and a pair of Premium Steel Coil Springs and two passive hydraulic fluid and gas shocks for the rear. This kit INCLUDES the light fix module and camber bolt kits. It's a direct replacement- no modifications are needed before the kit is installed. Customers appreciate how easy it is to install. Detailed instructions, online installation videos, and Strutmasters' ASE certified experts are all on hand to guide the repair process. And, if that's not enough, the kit costs a fraction of the price of dealership direct replacement and individual part replacement. A closer look at the three different costs shows just how considerable the savings are.
