The Speedway 11-Inch Disc Brake Conversion Kit is a comprehensive upgrade package specifically designed for 1954-56 Ford cars, delivering modern braking performance with ease of installation. At the core of the kit are newly manufactured IMCA-approved GM Metric disc brake calipers, which feature a low-drag piston seal to slightly retract the brake pads for improved fuel efficiency and pad longevity. The calipers accept 7/16-20 SAE fluid inlets-offering wide compatibility with aftermarket hoses-and use standard FMSI D154 brake pads, eliminating the hassle of core charges or rebuilds. The calipers are designed for 1-inch thick rotors but can fit. 810-inch rotors with included spacers, and they use a common 5-1/2-inch bolt spacing for versatile fitment. The kit also includes Speedway's soft compound brake pads, which are engineered for reliability and quiet operation with corrosion-resistant backing plates and OE-style multi-layer shims. The included caliper slide bolts are upgraded one-piece designs that eliminate the need for the factory sleeve, offering a cleaner, more durable solution with a 7/16-20 thread and 4-3/8-inch overall length. Additional components such as rotors, brackets, and mounting hardware ensure everything is aligned and securely installed, with specific kits covering Thunderbird-style brackets and necessary fasteners.
